Rapid chess tournaments in and around Buenos Aires 9

A rapid tournament gives each player time to think and still finishes within an afternoon. Around Buenos Aires the western federation FAOGBA runs a numbered rapid circuit, Torre Blanca in Almagro mixes rapid events into its weekly rated calendar, and Ajedrez Martelli in Villa Martelli marks national holidays such as 25 May, 9 July and 17 August with a rapid tournament.

The Copa Cultura AFA brings teams from football clubs together for a day of rapid chess, in 2026 at the Nueva Chicago stadium. Peón Libre in Luis Guillón numbers its rated tournaments, the fifth of them a rapid, the Villa del Parque club has played rapid opens, and Generación Z and BA Chess hold rapid events alongside their blitz.
