About this list

On each entry here, a page states that taking part is free. The Escuela Municipal de Ajedrez Fray Ruy López de Sigura in Villa Martelli describes its teaching as public and free, with classes on every weekday afternoon for children, adults and stronger players, and Tigre's municipal chess school opened free enrolment in 2025 for workshops at community centres, sports halls, clubs and a library across the district.

ATSA Buenos Aires, the health workers' union, offers its chess classes and tournaments free as well, but only to members and their families. Free does not always mean open to everyone: both municipal schools ask for enrolment, the union's activities are for members only, and each tile shows access wherever a page states it.
